In Science Lab, Mrs.Sexton, third, fourth, and fifth grade students did activities to learn about plants and animals.  In March, students went outside to learn about camouflage.  Third graders also studied about Turtle rescue and fourth graders did Animal Bingo using the Smart Board.

A special welcome to Miss Maggie McHugh who is now teaching two days a week and working with Mrs. Allye Godwin’s students! Students have been practicing their multiplication, doing lessons about greater/less than, and measurement.  In Language Arts, students are learning about antonyms and homonyms.

Mrs. Allye Godwin’s fifth grade students learned about WW II and reviewed important events for their Social Studies test during their Monday tutoring time.  Third grade students learned about the Civil War and are reviewing for the PACT test.

Mr. Sexton who is now teaching two days a week, works with fourth graders on Mondays and Mrs. Michelle Davis’ students on Tuesdays.  Recently his students read parts in a play about important American symbols and people.

Mrs. Michelle Davis’ third graders have been doing word-work activities with blends.  In Math, students practiced their measurement skills.

Mrs. Amy Martin’s fourth graders have been learning about Westward Expansion, the gold rush and problems with Mexico during Social Studies enrichment.  In Math, they worked with shapes and geometry concepts.

Miss Sheena Cook’s fifth graders read to locate main idea and find details.  In Math, they worked on decimals, fractions, and measurement.

Our after-school students are very fortunate to have such dedicated teachers tutoring them!  Thank you teachers for your dedication in planning and  teaching!

There will be no after-school program Friday, April 25th, since there is no school.
